New Jersey County Clerks Property Alert Services
Nearly every New Jersey County Clerk’s Office offers a form of free Property Alert Services to notify subscribers when documents such as deeds, mortgages, and liens are recorded in their name and/or property(ies). These services notify subscribers via email, text, or phone call, when a document with your name and/or property is recorded in the County Clerk’s Office. Some New Jersey County Clerk’s Offices only allow subscribers to put in a name rather than a property. To register your property and/or name to be alerted by these services follow the instructions below.
- Google look up [name of your county]’s Property Alert Service.
- Create an account on the county clerk’s website with the email address you would like to receive possible fraud alerts to. Create a password that follows the guidelines given.
- Activate your account using the email sent to you and then log in on the county clerk’s website.
- After you log in click on the “Alerts Registration” tab.
- Click on “Property” where there are instructions to use the Property Map Search to find the block and lot number of a property.
- After using the Property Map Search, go to back to the county clerk’s “Alert Registration” page and click the “Add” button.
- Enter the block and lot number of your property(ies) that you just found using the Property Map Search. You can put in as many properties as you like, but they must be within the county.
- Click save.
- After inputting the block and lot number of your property(ies) go to “Party Names.”
- Follow the format given and put in your name, variations of your name, or any other names that may be used to commit property fraud.
- Click save.
You can login to your account to edit your properties and/or party names whenever you want. These services are completely free and do not require any sort of fee or subscription.
